MSD7819-S00-L2 Beschreibung

The MSD7819 is a highly integrated, low-cost and high performance SoC for cable and IP client high-definition
STB (Set-Top Box) applications with conditional access (CA). It is configured with DVB-C and DVB-T
demodulator, a transport stream processor with different types of descrambler needed for different CA systems,
single smartcard interface, a multi-format audio and video decoder which is capable of decoding MPEG-1/2/4,
H.264 (ISO/IEC 14496-10), VC-1, RealMedia formats and a DVB-CI/CI+ interafce. It has a digital video encoder
of supporting CVBS, S-Video, YPbPr SD and HD output. For HD digital output, the MSD7819 also has a built-in
HDMI 1.3 transmitter.

For conditional access (CA) and digital right management (DRM) applications, the MSD7819 provides a very

secure architecture for protecting any security information in a CA/DRM system. It provides a secure boot
loader which includes a programmable OTP ROM and a hardware-controlled key management unit that can
fulfill the requirements from different CA and DRM systems.

For multimedia and network applications, the MSD7819 includes one USB 2.0 host and one USB 2.0 device/host

controller, a 10/100 Mbps Ethernet controller making it possible for the MSD7819 to decode and record media
files via those sources from both network and external storage devices. With built-in high performance
MIPS34Kf CPU and DDR2/DDR3 SDRAM controller, the MSD7819 can fulfill the requirement of modern
multimedia and network applications.
