Following the truth table, the OR gate output is designated as LOW only when both input signals are LOW. Conversely, the output is set to HIGH if either or both inputs are HIGH. In practical terms, the OR gate output is HIGH whenever one or both inputs are in a HIGH state.


In our OR gate circuit, we incorporate a 1K resistor to ground both gate inputs. These inputs are linked to the power source via buttons. Pressing a button causes the corresponding gate input to go HIGH. Thus, the truth table for the OR gate can be replicated with just two button presses. If one button is pressed, one input is HIGH and the other is LOW, resulting in a HIGH output. When both buttons are pressed, both inputs are HIGH, yielding a HIGH output.


When both buttons are released, both OR gate inputs are LOW, and the output is LOW. Therefore, according to the truth table, the LED should be off only when both buttons are released. If one or both buttons are pressed, the LED should illuminate.
