Melexis announces the launch of the industry's smallest medical-grade FIR sensor

Global microelectronics engineering company Melexis announced the launch of the industry's smallest medical accuracy standard FIR temperature sensor -- MLX90632.The sensor, which USES a patch package, is suitable for wearable devices (especially advanced in-ear devices, known as hearing devices) and clinical tests that require high accuracy measurements of human temperature.

MLX90632 is based on Melexis' advanced far infrared (FIR) technology, which takes advantage of the fact that all objects emit thermal radiation.Small far-infrared sensors are usually sensitive to thermal disturbances, but MLX90632 can mitigate the effects of thermal disturbances through complex compensation algorithms and achieve high thermal stability.The new medical-grade MLX90632 is optimized for the normal temperature range of the human body, achieving medical-grade accuracy of ±0.2°C thanks to the advanced factory calibration procedures.

This ultra-small device is a complete solution in the 3mm x 3mm x 1mm QFN package, integrating sensor components, signal processing components, digital interfaces and optical components for easy and quick integration into a wide range of space-constrained applications.

The medical-grade MLX90632 is small in size, high in thermal stability and optimized for human temperature, making it ideal for ultra-small health monitoring devices, such as portable diagnostic tools that continuously monitor body temperature.Continuous monitoring of vital signs is a key factor in the early detection of serious health conditions in preventive medicine practice.The sensor is also ideal for more traditional medical devices such as forehead or ear warmers.
